The coastline of Blanes stretches for four kilometres and offers a variety beaches - from long, wide sandy stretches of sand well served with tourist facilities to small, secluded rocky coves. There's a yacht marina and diving club and you'll be able to enjoy almost every kind of water sport here - from pedalo rides for the kids to parasailing for the more adventurous.
Several of the local beaches have won the European Blue Flag for cleanliness every year since 1995.
The biggest and most popular tourist beach is S'Abanell, 300 metres from the town centre. Flanked by the Passeig de S'Abanell seafront promenade, the beach is 2,500 metres long and provides a wealth of services and entertainment for the summer visitor.
Bars and restaurants line the promenade and the beach has showers, toilets and a Red Cross station. Deck chairs and pedaloes are available for hire and there's a good range of water sports including parasailing, sailing and windsurfing. You can also take a boat cruise along the coast.
